Gotmerchant.com is one of the better processing companies we have come across during our review process. They had competitive rates, a fantastic track record with current merchants and seem to be a company you should consider looking into.

They are a smaller company and as such lack the processing volume that providers some of the larger processors the ability to forgo higher monthly minimums and signing merchants to contracts. As with any arrangement there are pluses and minuses to working with a smaller processor compared to a larger one, but GotMerchant is one of the better merchant account providers that we have come across either large or small.

GotMerchant’s website comparing Interchange Plus pricing to Tiered pricing is completely wrong. In their example of the apples, the tiered pricing is correct if each is a seperate transaction. But if each is a seperate transaction, then the Interchange Plus pricing is most definitely incorrect. The first transaction would cost .01 plus the procesors charge of .05 totaling .06, which is more than the tiered pricing of .05. The second transaction would be .05 plus the processors charge of .05, the same as the mid qualified on tiered pring. The last transaction would be .08 plus .05 totaling .13, .02 less than tiered privcing. So the total cost oon tiered pricing is .30 as opposed to .29 on interchange plus. really not the dramatic savings they are alluding to. If you have alot of qualified transactions, sometimes tired pricing is the way to go. Interchange Plus pricing is not always the best way to go. I just wanted to point out the total ineptitude of Gotmerchant’s example of tiered pricing vs. interchange pricing so no one is duped by them. I wouldn’t put a merchant with them.
